October is Pink October, when money is raised and attention is drawn to the fight against breast cancer all over the world. At the weekend, the team at our supplier Suntec Industries France laced up their running shoes.
Foulées Roses
Suntec employees took part in Foulées Roses, a solidarity run and walk organised by the association AVEC La Deuche Rose. As well as taking to the course, Suntec also made a donation to the initiative.
Suntec itself calls it a wonderful moment of solidarity around a major public health cause. As they put it: every gesture counts, and it is together that we can move things forward.
A cause close to our hearts
Arne Nielsen A/S was founded in 1969 by two people, and one of them was a woman. Today, both the management and the ownership are 100 per cent female. One in eight women in Denmark gets breast cancer, and there are more than 5,000 new cases every year. That is why Pink October is close to our hearts.
The pump that keeps the boiler running
Day to day, Suntec makes oil pumps. They sit in oil burners all over the world, including many Danish oil boilers. The pump draws oil from the tank and gives it the pressure the nozzle needs to atomise the oil properly. If the pressure is wrong, the oil burns less efficiently and consumption rises.
That is why checking the pump pressure is part of the annual service. We recently wrote about 10 ways to save heating oil, and a well-adjusted boiler with a healthy pump is a good place to start.

But today, first and foremost, we want to congratulate the team in France and thank AVEC La Deuche Rose for organising the run.
